WWW Wednesday

So I thought we’d try this weekly meme for the first time! WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking on a World of Words and involves the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

So lets talk about my current reads. I usually have two on the go, a physical book and an ebook purely so I can still be reading while I’m feeding the bambino. Juggling a book and a bottle just doesn’t happen so my kindle has been my lifesaver here.

My physical book is Heatwave by T J Klune. This is the final instalment in The Extraordinaries trilogy and is about a teenager called Nick who has ADHD and an unhealthy obsession with his cities two local Superheros. As with the rest of this trilogy, I have been in stitches laughing at this book and I am alway here for the chaotic disaster that is Nick Bell!

My Ebook is Born A Crime by Trevor Noah. I’m not very far into this one at all but what I have noticed so far is I really enjoy the writing style. I pretty much never read memoirs or even a lot of non fiction so I’m not sure what to expect from this one. It’s one that has been consistently on my radar though so I figure now’s the time to give it a shot!

So a book that I recently finished reading was one of my ebooks (I actually own a physical copy of this as well after getting confused and thinking it was recursion on my kindle *facepalm*)

I wasn’t expecting too much out of this book even though I know everyone and their mother loves Blake Crouch. It was suffering a little bit from lost interest I think given how long I’ve owned it without picking it up but I can happily say that I’m a grade A idiot and should have picked this up sooner! I loved it. I was not expecting the story to go in the direction it did and wow did it make my head spin as everything started to unfold. I’ll have my full review up for this one soon but I will definitely be picking up another one of Crouch’s books in the future.

And finally what I think I’ll be reading next.

The Blade Itself is a grim dark fantasy book from what I’ve heard and I am beyond excited to start his one! We follow some seriously dodgy characters and I am praying for all of the morally grey energy. I do believe this is part of a larger extended universe that Abercrombie has written which is split into mini series and short stories so I’ll have plenty to sink my teeth into if I love this book as much as I think I will.

So there you have it friends, my current reading plans!

I’m curious… what are you currently reading and are you enjoying it? Let me know!

See you in the next one,

Jen x
